ELIGIBILITY

To apply for a residency you must: 

  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA*

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree

  • Meet the UNM graduate school admissions requirements

  • Pass the New Mexico Teacher Assessment Test of Essential
    Academic Skills

  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Be able to pass a background check

*Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may still apply, but will need

to write a short essay explaining the reasons for the lower GPA.

This is one of our core values. Like medicine and law, teaching combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. Committed residents can learn effective teaching for all students through sustained clinical experience.

Applicants will be pre-screened and notified of initial selection

SAVE THE DATE

MARCH 7 & 8, 2019. We will reserve a day for you and you will be notified by email. Dates are subject to change at ATRP discretion.

NOTIFICATION

Applicants will be notified of Second-Round Acceptance by March 31, 2019.

TESTING, BACKGROUND CHECK, and UNM GRADUATE SCHOOL APPLICATION

Second-Round Applicants take the NES Basic Skills test, complete a Background Check through APS, and apply to the UNM Graduate School.

FINAL ACCEPTANCE

Second-Round Applicants will submit their test scores and background check documentation. ATRP will then make the final decision.

RESIDENCY BEGINS

ATRP Residents, Cohort 2, begin classes in June 2019.
